The Speed Of Thought Players, or SOTP, is a New England based Improvisational Comedy and Theatrical Troupe founded in 1998 by Christian Galpin and Cory Green.
The SOTP have performed at clubs and colleges all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and in New York City. With OVER a dozen active members, a variety of game styles, and a fully audience-interactive format the SOTP guarantees you’ll never see the same show twice, but you’ll definitely want to come back for more.
Part of what makes the Speed Of Thought Players successful is our technique for training our performers and creating shows. The SOTP has studied a variety of existing precepts and formats relating to improvisational theater, took the best of what worked and fit our vision, and created our own distinctive approach to performing improv comedy which we abbreviate as "SCARY & FAST." Our mantra is “BIGGER, LOUDER, FASTER, and FUNNIER”.
Typically using a structure that comes closest to the TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", we rely on our system, our wits, and the host’s interaction with our audience to consistently create hilarity and enjoyment. Our shows CAN and have been customized for any age-group or demographic from grade-school children through nursing homes and can be tailored to whatever 'rating' is appropriate and desired anywhere from a 'G-rated' clean show to an 'R-rated' blue-humor.
